The MitySOM-5CSx, is a highly-configurable System on Module (SOM) designed to meet the demands of high-throughput applications. This compact high throughput SOM System on Module combines powerful Cortex-A9 application processors tightly integrated with FPGA fabric, providing a flexible infrastructure for embedded systems.
At the heart of the MitySOM-5CSx is the Altera Cyclone V System on Chip (SoC), which integrates memory subsystems and onboard power supplies. This comprehensive integration enables the seamless development of embedded systems with a combination of CPU and FPGA capabilities.
The MitySOM-5CSx high throughput system features a robust Hard Processor System (HPS) that delivers impressive performance, with each core offering up to 4,000 MIPS at speeds of up to 925 MHz. Equipped with a NEON coprocessor and double-precision Floating-Point Unit (FPU) per core, efficient processing of complex tasks is ensured.
With up to 2GB of DDR3 CPU/FPGA RAM (including ECC support), optional 512MB of dedicated DDR3 FPGA RAM, and up to 48MB of QSPI NOR Flash, the MitySOM-5CSx provides a high-bandwidth system for embedded applications. Thanks to its ARM architecture, it supports various high-level operating systems, including Embedded Linux, Micrium uC/OS, Android, QNX, and Windows Embedded Compact.
The high throughput system is equipped with six 3.125Gbps transceivers, one PCIe hard core, up to 133 user I/O, and dual Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. This enables simultaneous acquisition and efficient processing of large volumes of data, which is ideal for applications requiring substantial data throughput.
