Genesys Logic Launched USB4® Redriver – BW9906
Genesys Logic, Inc., a leading IC design company in mixed-signal, high-speed I/O technologies, today announced BW9906, its high-performance and cost-effective USB4® Redriver.
The introduction of Intel and AMD's USB4® interface-enabled PC and server processor platforms has rapidly increased in USB4® market penetration. However, with transfer rates reaching 20Gbps x 2 and above, higher speeds also mean that systems face faster signal degradation. In order to address this issue, Genesys Logic has launched the USB4® Redriver, a signal recovering device.
Genesys Logic USB4® Redriver BW9906 is not only backward compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 2 x 1 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 x 2, but also supports the Alternate Mode of DP2.1 UHBR20.
The sample of Genesys Logic USB4® Redriver BW9906 has already been delivered to the tier one NB and motherboard manufacturers to develop jointly new cost-effective USB4® models with new-generation platforms and is expected to be available in the market by the end of 2024.
Other unique features offered by Genesys Logic USB4® Redriver BW9906 include:
- Low power consumption. Power consumption < 637mW and sleep mode < 3.3mW. (Full power consumption saves about 90% of power consumption compared to mainstream USB4® Retimer in the market).
- It supports I2C operation mode, enabling system R&D engineers to adjust the parameters independently according to the high and low frequencies of different cables or PCB materials to achieve the best compensation for signal degradation.
- It supports linearity up to 1200mVpp, fulfilling more accurate signal transmission and reception than other competitive products.
- The linear swing feature of Genesys Logic Redriver Solution reduces waveform interference and improves overall signal quality.
- EQ enhancement range is up to 12.6 dB, providing better signal scalability than other competitive solutions.
